Psalms 91- A Psalm of Protection

This is my favorite psalm for it tells of the Lord's protection over me and His promise of a long life..............

Psalms 91:1-16
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

The Blessing

The blessing that God gave to Adam and later gave tp Noah, then to Abraham is the same we as born again, faith filled Christians have today. Nothing about it has changed, one iota. We are to have dominion over the earth , be fruitful, multiply, fill and subdue the earth. We have authority and power. All we have to do is speak it out. The original plan was fo man to spread the Garden of Eden over the entire earth but through sin this wasn't completed. Adam's sin of being a theif lost his authority over the earth. He ate from the only tree in the garden that didn't belong to him and that's stealing, making Adam's sin , one of a theif.
God gave the blessing to Abraham and it was a blessing for Abraham's seed also and through the death, burial and ressurrection of Jesus Christ, we, as born again Christians are the seed of Abraham. Hence, the same blessing that started with Adam and came upon us through the blessing of Abraham, is the same today as it was then because God swore it to Abraham while standing in the sacrificial blood of slain animals. He swore by Himself because there was NOTHING greater by which to sware. We all know that God is true to His word and His word NEVER changes. All that's required is a positive speaking tongue that is not afraid to speak the word of God out loud to and about anything.
The blessing is God's perfect will for mankind, but we have to put it to use. The blessing works only by words. Like God created the universe by speaking out words. Light be and light was, and He spoke life into man by the use of words. You have got to realize the power in the spoken word. Our words can either create or destroy, that's why The Word says :the tongue cannot be tamed and speaks both good and evil things.
The blessing gives us the power to turn away storms, heal ourselves, protect our homes, families, and belongings. Anything associated with or are mine I have the blessing authority and power over. It all has to do with the words I speak, weather good or bad, after they are said aloud, they are planted, afterall, words are seeds because the Bible is 66 books or bags of seed and that is what we have got to plant to put the blessing into our lives as a working blessing. Positive wordings causes the blessing and negetive wordings put up a block and stops the blessing from flowing.
Think about what I've written the next time you start to say something. Watching and thinking about your words not only improves your vocabulary but it will increase the blessing on your life. Think about it.

Words Are Seed

You must sow a seed before anything can or will happen. Everything we have or are is and can be used as a seed. Most seeds are sown everytime you open your mouth. Each word spoken is a seed and once it's outside of you it has a spiritual force behind it and it will create. It will be something weather good or bad depending on what you said and how you said it. If it's said with bad intentions or motives behind it, oh my goodness, watch out because something bad will spring up. Words are like things, just as God said Light be and there was light, so even when we speak we have the same effect if we're a born-again Christian. We really have to keep a tight reign on our tongue, it's a very small member of our body but it's the most powerful part of us. Afterall, in it lies the power of life and death. That's why we should always think before saying anything and if it's going to be sown as a bad seed, just don't say it. It's just as easy to say something nice as it is to say something that's going to hurt or disappoint someone. That's why it's better to listen and just keep your mouth shut. That's why we have two ears and one mouth, we're to listen twice as much as we speak. Keep the word of God before your eyes, in your ears and on your lips at all times, you'll always plant good seed with what you say. That's what the Bible is, a bag of SEED.............................use it wisely.

TRUE HAPPINESS

Really true happiness is not measured by what I possess but it is determined by who I am. I may be the richest person in the world with money, jewels, gold, what have you but if I'm an underhanded person or a person who cares nothing about his neighbor, then my worth and happiness is zilch.

To be truly happy one must care about other people more than themselves. They must have a helping spirit, that when seeing a brother in need, they don't hesitate to help. One has to have a close relationship with God, other people and like themselves in order to be really happy. Happiness comes from not only having what you need but having enough to share with those around you.

I believe we all should start each day by asking God to show you how we can be a helping hand to anyone that needs help. It makes you feel really good to know that you've helped someone out in some way. Look around and somewhere you'll find someone that needs maybe, just a cheerful word or a smile. Just something as small as a smile and a wave can warm the heart of a shut-in. A cup of water to the city worker that works all day in the hot sun trying to fix your stopped up sewer pipes . Little things always bring great rewards. Don't think that just because it's something small that it won't be appreciated.

Go visit a shut-in or a nursing home. There are always people there that welcome just about anyone anytime. Tell a fairy tale to a child who is being raised by a single parent, who works all day and needs some rest. Help a single parent by volunteering to watch their kids for a while. Buy groceries for someone you know who needs them. Cards, letters and phone calls can cheer up just about anyone. Lend an ear to someone who has a problem and needs someone to talk to.

These things don't take a lot of time to do but it does take getting up off your haunches and doing something for someone. Get your mind off yourself for a while. We were not born into this world just to do for ourselves. We were put here to praise and glorify God and serve Him in all we do, that's our first and foremost assignment as a human being. The second is helping out other people, after that is when we turn our attention onto ourselves. Living our lives this way may seem hard to realize but believe me, rewards with come and you be in good standing with God Almighty. Not only that but you'll feel so much better when you live this. Keep your priorities in order which are..............GOD........neighbor..........self.

True Happiness is Determined by Who You Are...............Not by What You Possess.

Confidence

Self doubt will attack your self worth, self esteem and your confidence. Without confidence nothing much will work, or if it does it will only work for a short while. It takes confidence to successfully make anything turn out right. God's Word says in Hebrews 10:35 " Cast not your confidence away".

Satan works extra specially hard to take your confidence away from you. Hang on to it and be confident in everything you do. If he can take away your confidence he can make you doubt what the Word of God says is true. He also, wants you to doubt yourself by telling you that whatever you do, it will not be successful or you will fall flat on your face. This causes all manner of thoughts to flood into your mind and that is Satan's number one plan, doubting yourself. With this doubt inside you, your confidence takes flight. Anytime there is doubt, go to The Word and see what God has to say about what you're feeling. Everything you will ever want to know lies in between the covers of The Holy Bible. It will keep your confidence in tact if you'll just follow it's lead.

Confidence must play a big part in all you do, your thoughts, prayers, your tithes and your work. Like when you pray be confident in Christ Jesus that no matter what I ask it will come to me as in 1 John 5:14-15. Just always remember that confidence comes not from what you have done for God but confidence comes from what God has done for you.

What If God Was Quick-Tempered!!!!

I hope I don't step on any toes or make anyone mad but I was just sitting here thinking about what a wonderful God we serve. How patient and loving He is towards us. His mercy towards us is renewed every morning, because He loves us that much and He is so slow to anger{Psalms103:8}

BUT

I would not want to think what our life here on earth would be like if our God, creator of everything, was a quick-tempered God, instead of being slow to anger as it says in Psalms 103:8. Can you actually imagine what a chance we would take when we just slipped and said or did something very small that was not in line with what His Word said. It would be like walking on the proverbial eggs each and every day. Not many people would make it past noon each day when zap.........they'd be gone. Just a small slip or a sharp answer or reply and zap.....another one gone.

It would be so hard to please Him because we would know that if we did not get it right, He would be totally unhappy and we would know exactly what that meant. Life would not have any happy moments. People would concentrate too heavily on not discouraging our Lord God. This would make for a tense, unhappy and uniform life.

It would even be taking a chance just to say a prayer. For that matter, prayer could actually bring death if God didn't like how you prayed or what you prayed for. If you just thought you did something wrong and wanted to ask for forgiveness, that would be another antsy situation. Everything would have to be thoroughly thought out. Even our thinking would have to be carefully controlled.

I really don't think many people would make it a day much less a lifetime if our God was quick-tempered. But praise the Lord, He is slow to anger. He is patient, kind, gentle, forgiving, protective, extremely loving, peaceful and giving. All this was just a bit of thinking that hit me one morning when I was just wasting time. I thought it may be of interest so I grabbed a pen and wrote it down.

I hope no feeling were hurt but I hope that some thinking may have taken place or maybe some thinking may have changed. It's so good to be loved by God Almighty. He, that is creator of everything in the world and He still has time to love me and you as if we were the only people on earth. Just think this everyday........GOD LOVES ME!!!!!! It will make your days happier and easier to face.

Do You Know Who You Are????

Do you know who you are?

Well, I'll tell you exactly who I am because I really know and believe this with all my heart.

I'll just list a few things that I know that will show who I am.

{1} I Am a Child of God.

[according to John chapter 1 verse 17]

Just think about how awesome that is, being a child of the Almighty God,creator of heaven and earth and everything therein.

{2} I Am Joint Heirs with Jesus Christ.

[according to Romans chapter 8 verse 17]

Just think everything that belongs to Jesus Christ belongs to me. Could anything be better than that?

{3}I Am the Righteousness of God

[according to 2 Corinthians chapter5 verse21]

That means that I am in right standing with the God of all creation, who sees me through the blood of His son, Jesus Christ.

{4}I Am an Overcomer

[according to First John chapter 5 verse4]

Anything that this world throws at me, I am able to overcome it.

{5} I Am More Than a Conqueror

[according to Romans chapter8 verse 37]

This means that nothing can separate me from the love of Christ. Not death, life, angels, powers, present things or things to come, shall separate me from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus.

{6} I Am a King and a Priest

[according to Revelation chapter verse 6]

Jesus Christ who is the first to come back from the dead and is Ruler of the kings of the earth.

To him who had love for us and has made us clean from our sins by his blood;

and has made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him, let glory and power be given for ever and ever. So be it.

That is only a few of the things that I know myself to be, through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.

Have you made Him lord of your life?

The time for doing so is now, the time is always now.

There may not be a later or tomorrow.

Jesus is waiting for you to answer that little tug on your heartstrings.

That feeling of longing for something else.

All you got to do is answer His call.

Roman's 10:9 says that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
