JUST DO IT !!!!

This is the way I feel about the things that are important, don't beat around the bush about doing them, just do it. That's why things never get done, there's just too much of putting things off. I know there are some people who say they'll do this and that but still to this day, this and that is still undone. I see absolutely no sense in this sort of behavior at all. If you say you'll do something, just do it.

Where would we have been if Jesus put off going to Jerusalem. Or what if He had put off going to the Garden to pray on the night of His betrayel? What if instead He had went in another direction to avoid what He was sent to do? We'd all still be living in the most sinful of situations. That is, if the world would still be standing. But no, Jesus was true to what He was supposed to do, even though He asked to be relieved from it, He went ahead and went through the harshest, cruelest, punishment that anybody could go through. Why.........................because of love.

So, next time you say you'll do something, just do it out of love you have for Jesus and for the love you have for whomever you said you'd do this thing for. For just as Jesus did what was expected of Him out of His love for all of us and His obedience to the Father, so we should follow His example. The next time you're asked to do something for someone, stop a moment, take a long breath and be truthful. If I say yes, am I really going to do it? Do I really want to do it? Or am I just saying yes to get them to be quiet about this thing they've asked? Or do I just say, I'd rather not, or just plain no. Whatever the answer is, be truthful. But if by chance, you say yes, don't put off doing it, just smile and get to whatever has been asked of you. Just set your face like flint and just do it.

As a lifelong procrastinator, I have learned to be careful of this trap, too. I tend to put things off, I think becasue I'm afraid of getting everything done and having nothing to do. Sounds silly, but why else do people start but never finish so many projects? (My husband is a great example!) However, I also used to say "yes" when I didn't really want to because I wanted approval, or I didn't want to hurt the person's feelings, or I didn't stop to think, or I couldn't think of an excuse, or many other reasons. Now, I know that I can say "no" and I do not owe any explanation, or I can say "I need to pray, or think about it, or check my schedule" if I really intend to do any of the aforementioned things, and GUESS WHAT? It's okay to do so!
